Sundsvall Airport, or Midlanda Airport, is situated around 21kms from the city of Sundsvall in North Sweden. The airport is Sweden’s eleventh busiest and deals mainly in domestic traffic. International charter flights include Lanzarote, Egypt, Turkey, Gran Canaria and Bulgaria.

Car hire in Sundsvall Airport is an important consideration, as buses and trains can be limited. The train pricing system is said to be rather complicated, and public transport in general can be expensive. Car rental in Sundsvall Airport can be arranged through car hire giants Avis, Hertz and Europcar.

This small, single-terminal airport has just seven check-in desks, four gates and two baggage claim belts. Catering facilities are therefore limited and consist of one bistro offering beverages, light meals and drinks, as well as a selection of newspapers and books. The bistro is located between gates three and four. There is also a tax-free shop, where you can buy sweets, gifts and perfume.

There are 100 short-term parking spaces and 400 long-term parking spaces. Tickets are issued from the machines at the car park entrance and must be retained. Alternatively, you can insert a credit card and pay that way.

Lying some 400kms north of Stockholm, Sundsvall is home to 115,000 people and is the most densely populated region of North Sweden. There are several lively bars in town, as well as a casino. There are also many interesting clothing boutiques to browse in for those that enjoy shopping. Other attractions in Sundsvall include the Sundsvall Town Hall, Vangavan Fountain and Park, and the Knaust Hotel, which is said to be the most famous building in town.
