Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and as such, it hosts the busiest airport in the region. Last year nine million people used Edinburgh Airport Scotland (EDI) for travel to and from the famous city. The airport is just six miles west of the main city centre and is found just off the main M8 motorway linking Edinburgh and Glasgow.

All facilities are housed around the single terminal building; short stay and disabled parking are walking distance to the main entrance of 100 metres. Cheap car hire at Edinburgh Airport Scotland (EDI) is found alongside the short stay car park. Long stay parking is a short courtesy coach ride from the entrance to check-in.

There are designated drop-off zones clearly signed for passengers with a restricted waiting time. Drivers collecting passengers now have to use the short stay car park ground floor. Cheap car hire at Edinburgh Airport Scotland (EDI) is offered at a new building not far from the terminal.

In the airport after security there are three airport lounges; two are exclusive for British Airways passengers while the other, Servisair Executive Lounge, is open to anyone three hours before their flight. Complimentary food and drinks are available here as well as newspapers and magazines. A massage room can be found close to gate seven or massage chairs in the departures lounge.

Check-in desks and the Arrivals hall are both found on the ground level, where you can also find coffee shops, Bureau de change, ATMs and car rental desks. Bus services leave from outside the terminal to local destinations and train stations. A taxi rank is located at the International Arrivals end.
