Bangkok’s most widely used airport is Bangkok Airport, situated in the Bang Phli district. This recently built, modern airport is able to accommodate thousands of people each day. Bang Phli district is quite far away from the city center (about 20 kms), but several means of transportation, including cheap car hire in Bangkok Airport itself, can get you there relatively easily.

People flying in arrive on level two of the building (there is only a single terminal) where as departures are to be found on the fourth level, along side check-in. International and domestic flyers are handled separately in areas which are clearly displayed.

When travelling onward to other Thai regions, there are different methods of transportation available including an extensive rail system and bus service. Some like the convenience and flexibility of car rental: this is can be obtained everywhere in Thailand. Taxis are always good value, even for longer journeys but ask for an estimate of the charge in advance.
